SECTOR FIRST, AESTHETIC SECOND
Every project starts with research into the client’s world. The design has to feel like the future of that sector — not like my portfolio.

Founder of Black Oar Studio. Twenty years a certified master craftsman. Building on the web since 2022. The person who quotes your project is the person who builds it — this page is that person's record.
For twenty years I built windows and doors — a certified Meister in glass, window and façade construction, running every job end to end: quoting it, measuring the building, fabricating the units in the workshop, standing on the site when they went in. Nothing came off a shelf. Every piece was made for one specific opening in one specific wall, because a standard part does not fit a hole that isn't standard.
For ten of those years I also ran an ostrich farm on the side — breeding, processing, sales, the whole chain. That is where I first put a business online. I did it myself, with a website builder, and it was bad. It worked the way a stock window works: it filled the hole, and it fooled nobody.
In 2021 I left Germany and closed out my last jobs for the workshop remotely. Curiosity about what a machine could actually do turned into blockchain and NFT work the following year — my first real experience shipping on the open web, at speed, with every failure mode that comes with it. That is where the lesson landed: online, execution is the product, and too much of what gets shipped is a stock part jammed into a non-standard hole.
Black Oar Studio runs the way the workshop ran.
Measured before it's built. Built to fit. Installed by the person who made it.
Dates and roles. The last line is still being written.
Six of them. The rest come out in proposals.
Every project starts with research into the client’s world. The design has to feel like the future of that sector — not like my portfolio.
Two decades of custom fabrication taught me the same lesson every time: a standard part in a non-standard opening is a visible failure. I don’t ship templates.
A small build and a large one get the same execution. Price changes scope, never quality.
No placeholders, no “you could also”, no half-wired demos. What I hand over is the final version.
Analytics checked against the live beacon. Builds audited before they go out. “It says active” is not evidence that it works.
No status decks, no discovery workshops billed as deliverables. You talk to the person building it.
Research, design, build and deployment stay with one person. Nothing is lost in a handover, and the accountability works like it did in the workshop: whoever measured is whoever installs.
You write, I answer — 24 hours is the target, usually the same business day. No account layer between you and the build.
I work out of Asia on UTC+7: a European morning and a North American evening both land inside my working day.
The studio's own build is measured and publicly verifiable — scores, security grades and page weight, each tied to the third-party test or browser check that reproduces it.
Send your current website, idea or offer — you'll hear back from the person who would build it.
